Please follow one of our most important community ideals! Leave No
Trace, or LNT for short. Pack your supplies in, pack your trash out.
You are responsible for the trash you create.
Please, self police your camp and scout out for any and all MOOP, before, during, and after the event.
MOOP: Matter Out Of Place.
1. Anything on the ground that nature didn't put there.
Here's
a few ways to avoid MOOP: Plan ahead to minimize waste, clean as you
go, and don't let any trash even hit the ground. Smokers - do not throw
butts on the ground! Bring your own covered cigarette butt containers,
Altoid tins are great (decorated of course). Buy in bulk, leave excess
packaging at home by putting individually packedaged items into Zip
Locks or Tupperware, and avoid disposable cups/plate/utensils. Use
reusable/collapsible water cans instead of disposable jugs. Bring
crushable aluminum cans and plastic containers instead of heavy,
breakable glass ones. Be a LNT representative for your camp and make
sure things are kept tidy – just fifteen minutes a day to clean up
makes departure day super quick and easy.
After leaving the event, dispose of your trash properly. Either haul it
home or use the local landfill. There will be no dumpsters, trash
receptacles or maid service available at Transformus. All trash must be
transported offsite. Keeping Deerfields as pristine as we found it
ensures the survival of this event.
