Transformus is committed to the principle of Radical Inclusion. We believe that opportunities for transformative experience should be available to all, including those with disabilities. The terrain of our venue and the "outdoor living" nature of our event may be challenging, but we welcome those with temporary or permanent disabilities to participate in our event. As possible, special considerations or arrangements can be made to accomodate the specific needs of those with disabilities or medical conditions. If you have any questions or would like to discuss any special needs you may have, please do not hesitate to contact our special Disabled Burners Liason, WordPlay.
Informing our Disabilities Liason and/or the EMS Team Lead, of any specific medical conditions or severe allergies you may have will better assist & prepare our EMS volunteers should an emergency arise. Bees and yellowjackets do make their home at Deerfields, so do bring an epi-pen if you have severe allergic reactions to such stings. Do remember to bring any necessary medications with you. Basic first aid will be available, but in the event of a serious emergency an ambulance will be called to transport you to the nearest medical facility.
Should you require your vehicle to power a Sleep Apnea or other medical device please inform the DB Liason and/or your Parking Badger to so that we may recommend a camping neighborhood which will accomodate your vehicle. Due to the fire content featured at our festival, please notify us if you require personal oxygen and will be bringing oxygen tanks with you. We will recommend the safest camping neighborhood and instruct you in areas to avoid for safety concerns.
ADA approved Portable Restrooms will be provided at the event in several locations. Please inquire with the DB Liason, your Parking Badger or the Information Booth regarding their placement and the most convenient camping neighborhoods or locations to access them. If you are camping with a theme camp, please ask your theme camp organizer to relate your need to our Theme Camp Coordinator before the event and we will request placement of a handicapped accesible unit in your neighborhood portajohn cluster.
PMVs such as scooters, segways, and similar are permissible for persons with temporary or permanent disabilities. Please inform Wordplay if you will be bringing a PMV and he will inform the DMA for you. You will be issued a DMA (Division of Mobile Art) special permit to display on your vehicle. In keeping with the artistic spirit of the event, we do encourage you to decorate your PMV at least temporarily for the duration of the event.
Occasionally Wordplay or Bullet will be making rounds around the city in the mule, usually in response to equipment and staff transportion needs. If no emergencies exist and space allows, feel free to ask for a lift. Disabled burners may also put in a request with radio-enabled volunteers for transportation assistance, but you may have to wait patiently for pick-up. Be aware the mule may not always be available and its drivers may keep irregular hours. For any other questions or concerns contact WordPlay.
